Mahua Waterfall- Tambunan, Sabah
After a brief stint of jungle trekking experience at Rafflesia Information Centre, we moved on to Mahua Waterfall without much hesitation.
It took us about 30 minutes drive from there to Mahua Waterfall (on the way to Ranau route). This treasure is tucked away in a village called Kampung Patau. 6KM drive from the main junction all the way into the end of the village. The tarred road makes the whole driving journey pleasant and safe.
A friendly caretaker there maintains an office and collects an entrance fee of RM3 (USD0.90) per person. After a short stroll from the entrance, we found the hidden gem of rainforest! To our surprises, this place was flooded with local people.
Families and friends gathered at this wonderful nook of mother nature to enjoy the swim, barbecue, and more barbecue!
Visitors who wish to stay overnight can visit Tambunan Homestay for more information.
