Emergency services said 4 of the injured were serious, including two female pensioners (aged 75 and 82), while French police arrested the driver according to British newspaper The Guardian.

For their part, unconfirmed reports said that the driver had an emergency medical condition that caused the accident, and officials indicated to the French news agency “Agence France Presse”, that the accident was not intended at all.
