The Haryana Government has issued instructions that May 23 will be a one-day holiday in Haryana on the occasion of the Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj. Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has welcomed this decision.

May 23 and 24 declared government holidays
HSGMC executive member Ravindra Kor Arjan informed about the declaration of holiday. He said that while this day was earlier an optional holiday as per the calendar of the Haryana Government, now it has been officially declared as a holiday. Apart from this, the Haryana government has also declared May 24 as a government holiday on the occasion of Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti.

Official letter also issued
All the offices, boards and departments of the state government will remain closed on May 23 and 24 in compliance with the instructions of the Haryana government. An official notice of this announcement has been issued by the government, in which the holiday of those two days has been announced.
