Lifestyle Desk: Chocolate Shell Batter? Do people eat banana peels? Those who think so turn this fear into a beautiful word. Banana is an important fruit all over the world. Every part of it is used in some form or the other all over India. The leaves are used as eco-friendly and disposable plates for special occasions as well as for regular use. The fruit is eaten when ripe and cooked raw in a delicious curry. A delicious recipe is made with the stem. Banana flowers are finely chopped and cooked in curry with coconut and sometimes mustard paste.

Sadly, most people throw coconut shells in the dustbin. Raw banana peels are traditional dishes well known to Bengalis and Oriya people, yet both the communities rarely use them in their daily lives these days. So today I have come with a very simple yet delicious banana peel batter.

Material:
Kanchkala 4te
Mustard oil 1 tsp
Black cumin 1 tsp
4 cloves of garlic finely chopped
a raw chili
two dry chilies
salt to taste

Process:
Boil bananas in a pan. Separate the peel and cut it with a knife. Use bananas for another recipe. Add mustard oil to the pan, when oil starts smoking add dry chilies. Add black pepper when smoke comes from dry chili. Add the chopped garlic and stir till the outer edges of the garlic turn brown. Switch off the flame and add banana peels along with mustard oil. Add chopped green chilies. Using your fingers, mash the banana peel and mix well with all the ingredients, add salt to taste and mix well. Your banana peel solution is ready. Serve hot with rice and dal.
